what amateur boxing weight class would i be in?

November 30th, 2009 | by admin |

i just turned 15 and im 6 foot tall and way 163 pounds. (if you need more info just put it in a comment)

well right now your under the middle weight class. But like someone here said the higher the weight the harder the punches, trust me I know. If you really want to go up do it by gaining more muscle then actual fat weight.

Right now you may be heavy for your age. But you are not a heavyweight like the guy said. It just doesn’t work like that. Right now you would probably be light heavyweight as an amateur. Supermiddle as a pro. (They would make you shed that 3 pounds to be right on the limit) Amateur and pro weights are slightly different. If you are actually a bit chubby. They may try and make you shed that and get down to middleweight. (as an amateur) depends how long you’ve been training for already, as to how to gauge weight catagory.

Ignore the answers above me they are of no use to you. Except yeah the higher the weight, the harder the punches coming back at you (GENERALLY)
