How long do you have to take boxing classes until you can sign up for a tournament?

I’ve been in boxing for about almost a year and i want to know how long i have to wait until i can go into a tournament

It really depends on how fast you improve. Some fighters can train for two months and be good enough for their 1st bout while other may take two years. Everybody is deferent you coach will be able to gage your improvement better than anybody else.

When I 1st started Boxing it took nearly a year before I had my 1st Amateur match. Looking back at it I can honesty say that I wasn’t ready maybe from a skill standpoint but not from a training perspective everyone is different.

you should train, train, and train. and when you feel good, and think you are ready for a tournament, you should try it. it really doesn’t matter, if you loose or not, i think the first two tournaments are for collecting experiences. how does it look like? i am in a good condition? how good are the other boxers? and after a tournament, you see how much you still need to train. good luck
