Okay, I am really starting to get into boxing (as in watching it) and I have a big urge to start boxing for fitness.
I’m kind of embarrassed about my fitness level, but do you think I need a trainer or go to a class?
How much do boxing classes normally cost?
Would it be okay if I just started doing some boxing at home? (air boxing that is)
What’s a good way to get my fitness level up before I even get to boxing class?
Lol I’m knew so any tips would help!!!
dont worry about ur fitness cuz u gotta start somewhere but running n pushups would be good to start at home n once u get decent go find a REAL boxing gym, not the aerobics classes at ballys total fitness but the ones were fighters are made, u dont have to fight or spar but the real boxing gyms will push u harder and u will actually learrn some self defence too, the cost depends on were u at, i know of some that are 25$ all the way to 100$ and if u wanna shadow box before u go to the gym n dont have anyone to teach u then just go to youtube.com n look up boxing technique n combo drills n such, it want replace a real boxing trainer but its a start.
if u got any other questions then just e-mail me n good luck home girl
peace
I’m about to start classes myself. depending on the gym a good estimate would be 50-100 bucks a months for a gym membership (at least in Dallas). Get your stamina up, go out and start jogging. Most trainers make you run a few miles anyways, couldn’t hurt to be able to run 3 miles by the time you start. Google the nearest gym to you and call them, ask the trainers how they will train you. Just know boxing is NO joke, i don’t think there are many other sport that require as much from you, but know the results are incredible. good luck.

I guess you can start at home with regular workouts and then just do some research so you can get into a boxing gym…you can even watch videos on the internet about boxing and its techniques

Find a good gym and they will teach you all you need to know don’t worry about your fitness right now that will come along one of the things you can do while your looking for a gym is to start running and don’t over do it just take your time and remember your not trying to make the olympic team. It will take you about three months to get comfortable in the gym and the exercise.
