I was thinking of going on a prepared low-calorie portion-controlled diet (Nutrisystem for Men) that I will follow accordingly due to not being able to shop or cook my own food at home, as I’m usually at work (8am-5pm) or at school (6pm-10pm). Do you think a balanced low calorie diet like Nutrisystem combined with extra protein will work?
I assumed with the added activities like weight lifting and cardio (tae bo and boxing classes), the extra protein from the shakes or added meats would help build/retain muscle mass.
Do you guys think this would work or do you think the Nutrisystem meals/snacks have sufficient amounts of protein to sustain these activities? My ideal amount of "extra protein" would be around 20-35 grams of protein added on top of the daily nutrisystem meals I will have to eat.
Would doing this put me over my daily protein intake? Is this good or bad?
Any help or info would be appreciated…if it helps, I’m 24 yrs old, 6ft tall and 286 lbs.
Thanks!!
if you want to build mucles–eat protein
