Will I still grow muscles if i lift weights and take kickboxing classes?

Ok so i’m in a weight training class in my high school and every week I benchpress and do benchpress curls and many other excercises. But my question is will I still continue to grow muscle if I take up kickboxing classes? I did some research and apparently alot of cardio burns muscle mass and turns it into energy. And boxing is cardio. I dont know if thats true but it seems believable. I just started the class 2 weeks ago in my school so I havent really seen any results……

10 points to who ever can help me :) :(

Yes you will still grow only IF, you still eat plenty of protein, you eat healthy meals, because kickboxing is a cardio workout, you wont need much cardio to burn fat.

But stick with eating a lot of healthy meals with a lot of protein, you should still grow.

Results takes time, and yes cardio does burn muscle mass. I advise you continue doing weightlifting and kickboxing. I play basketball, which is a extreme cardio, and I am still getting bigger and stronger every week!

Yes you’ll still grow muscle just not as fast. I do cardio once a week now and during the summer I did it three times a week. I still saw results just at a slower rate (bigger muscles that is) cardio will help you get cut though because it’ll help burn more calories and enhance your muscles giving you a nice ripped body. Drink protein after your weight lifting workouts and that’ll help. If you do the kickboxing just once a week it really shouldn’t effect your rate of muscle growth but it you did it 3 times a week or more you’d be losing weight which will slow your muscle growth.
