Do Kickboxing Classes/Training show you striking techniques/skills or just kicking?

Well I know it’s Kickboxing and not boxing so you’re obviously going to be kicking a lot….but does this involve any punching/striking as well?

Actually, the kickboxing classes I go to place a little more emphasis on Punching than on Kicking. We also learn blocking, knee strikes and elbow strikes.

The stances and punching are quite similar to modern boxing. The kicking is good, however you will need to condition your shins. Some kicks require feet (crescent kick for example) but a normal snap kick to the thigh is delivered by your lower shin and believe me, that does damage.

Kickboxing requires a lot of punching and kicking. Using knees and elbows are also permitted.

Kicking Boxing uses pretty much everything, feet, hands, elbos, and knees. But they do focus alot on feet, hand technique is easier to grapple then feet technique.

In over 25 years of training I have never seen a kickboxing gym that didn’t involve plenty of punching.
